Why John Waters Is My Role Model

John Waters is incomparable and a source of subversive inspiration for me. He has a great gift for appreciation of trash and the sublime. Despite the fact that in the beginning of his career he appalled and horrified people, you can't help feeling that John Waters is sentimental and good-hearted. His mind is definitely unique, perverse and hilarious at the same time. Because of John Waters, I learned to appreciate low and high art, and it opened up a new world for me. I formed my own brand of ' neurotic happiness ' because of it. So thank you, John Waters for being my role model and the ' filth elder ' I never had.
