Andy Milligan

American playwright, screenwriter, actor & filmmaker, whose work includes 27 films made between 1965-1988. In spite of the fact that he directed a number of films that have become cult favourites with horror movie buffs, he died in abject poverty in 1991 from AIDS and was buried in an unmarked pauper's grave in Los Angeles. Director Nicolas Winding Refn, who had an obsession with Andy Milligan since the late seventies, paid 16,000 pounds on eBay to buy up his films and bring them back to life.
